Department Information
The School of Nursing facilitates the learning process of students in achieving the Doctor of Nursing Practice, the Master of Science with an emphasis in education and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degrees. The school currently manages recruitment, admission and retention of 230 undergraduate and 90 graduate students. National Accreditation through ACEN is maintained to insure delivery of quality nursing education. Description of Job
The Nurse Education Manager is a full-time administrative professional position that is responsible for supporting graduate degree seeking nursing students throughout their educational experience at CSU Pueblo, including onboarding new graduate students (including but not limited to new student orientation and support for enrollment) and providing support for current students (including but not limited to assisting students with navigating the systems and processes, facilitating enrollment, supporting students in career advancement learning opportunities, and coordinating closely with the Director of the Graduate Nursing Programs and the Director of the School of Nursing should difficulties arise).?This position is responsible for the coordination of student resources and services across multiple service areas (i.e. campus, community, and state). This position will also work with the School of Nursing and our partners to develop a model for recruitment and enrollment and resources for retention to build a sustainable model to address the nursing shortages while supporting new nurses and upskilling existing nurses into graduate degrees.
This position is grant-funded, includes benefits, and is renewable annually, based on budgetary approvals and renewal of grant(s), as follows: Grow Where You’re Planted: Southern Colorado Partners Leading Advancement in Nursing Track (PLANT) Phase I Seed Grant of Regional Talent Initiative Program (Opportunity Now Colorado) agreement #ON-SD-0004. This position is currently funded through June 30th, 2026.
Primary Duties
Enrollment
+ Respond to inquiries about graduate nursing programs; participate in nursing recruitment events (in-person and virtual) on campus and in collaboration with rural community partners in Southern Colorado
+ Work to resolve enrollment issues with graduate nursing students via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions and through collaboration with director of graduate nursing programs.
+ Advocate for graduate students by working closely with academic departments, faculty advisors, financial aid, enrollment management, university student resources, and other departments to ensure students are retained using quality improvement methods and processes.
+ Maintain accurate records of enrollment-centered communications.
Provide professional support
+ Assist with the identification and delivery of program-related professional development opportunities; coordinate and collaborate with other departments to develop, market and implement programs and projects aimed at assisting graduate students for student success, graduation and job placement; coordinate with the scheduling of locations, equipment and resources needed to deliver student services.
+ Develop and provide opportunities for students from historically marginalized backgrounds (e.g., first-generation graduate students) to grow in their understanding of how to be successful in higher education.
+ Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in professional development and career advancement of graduate students.
+ Provide career coaching and guidance to graduate nursing students.
Program Management & Reporting
+ Work with university personnel for website updates.
+ Work with Administrative Assistants to develop newsletter, flyers, and participate in marketing strategies and events to recruit students.
+ Maintain accurate records of outreach and attendance at all events and activities.
+ Utilize data identification and data collection tools, tracking and analytics to prepare quarterly and annual Key Performance Indicators grant reports for graduate students and rural community grant partners.
+ Model testing and recommendations for program sustainability.
+ Identify rural and other student resources and initiate any needed improvements to improve student access for academic success.
+ Develop a Program Communication plan.
+ Participate in collaborative development of data collection tools for graduate and rural community partners to measure outcomes.
+ Collect and maintain completed data collection forms, acknowledgement and other required documentation for data analysis and grant reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited university
+ Registered Nurse
+ Strong written communication skills
+ Experience in a position or activity that required competency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Experience supporting students from varied backgrounds who require additional resources to thrive in college
+ Experience in a position or activity that required strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
+ Experience in a position or activity that required excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
+ Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
+ MS degree in nursing
+ Bilingual: verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish
+ Experience working in a graduate education program.
+ Experience in marketing, career coaching, professional development, or a related field
+ Knowledge of career development and industry trends and best practices in graduate and/ or rural higher education.
+ Experience developing and implementing successful programs and services to support professional development and career advancement.
+ Experience with academic grant management and/ or reporting.
+ Experience coaching/mentoring other nurses.
