Community Benefit Director as a part of the community health & impact structure leads the enterprise-wide strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a systematic approach to assess community health needs, design, and implement improvement plans, and capture and share patient and community impact. This role supports the achievement of ProMedica’s not-for-profit mission and status by ensuring ProMedica benefits the communities we serve.
The director partners with ProMedica’s clinical service line and hospital leaders, community health and impact, grants, quality, strategic planning, marketing-communication, finance, tax, and other stakeholders across the organization. The position also collaborates with leaders of departments of health, community health coalitions, health networks and associations, and vendor partners.
ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design and lead the process of conducting community health needs assessments and creating community health improvement plans with hospital and clinical service line leadership, as part of each hospital’s community health and impact strategy. Integrate the missions of Public Health Community Health Assessments (CHA) and Improvement Plans (CHIP).
Lead a partnership with community health & impact, strategic planning, and system quality to create a comprehensive view of patient and community health needs by integrating clinical, market, and community and public health data.
Partner with the director, community health & impact to design, lead, and align strategies and activities with system, clinical, and community health and impact plans.
Design processes to ensure continuous improvement of hospital and clinical service line plans and outcomes. Partner with the community health & impact team to create, implement, evaluate, and replicate effective hospital and clinical service line initiatives and other evidence-based initiatives that meet community health needs.
Develop and implement a systematic approach to capture, monitor, and report enterprise-wide, community benefit activities across the organization. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and partner with the CFO, finance, accounting, tax, and others to audit performance and submit required reports and documentation.
Build strategic relationships with finance, marketing-communications, government relations, and others to align efforts, engage people, share messages, and increase the impact of the organization’s mission in our communities.
Develop, and manage budgets for community health assessment and improvement planning. Partner with supply chain to manage vendors supporting community health assessments and operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, a related field, or an equivalent combination of experiences.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other IT applications, as necessary.
Years of Experience: At least 5 years of experience and demonstrated leadership success in healthcare, community/public health, and systems integration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s Degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, a related field, or an equivalent combination of experiences.
Skills: Proficiency in Community Health Needs Assessments, IRS Forms, and 990 Schedule H requirements. Knowledge of local, state, and federal health policies and programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment: According to facility requirements, as determined by the location.
Physical Demands: Moderate walking, climbing steps, lifting, bending.
