POSITION TYPE: Full-time
Ability to work on site, currently hybrid 2 days/week in our NOVA, Richmond, or Norfolk Office

New Virginia Majority (NVM), Virginia’s leading civic engagement organization, builds power in working-class communities of color across the Commonwealth. We organize around issues of racial, economic, and environmental justice year-round through deep community organizing, mass voter mobilization and policy advocacy. We seek conscious and skilled candidates with a deep commitment to racial and economic justice to join our Digital Department as our Digital Engagement Coordinator. The coordinator would help lead help lead thoughtful digital content production aimed at digital engagement and furthering organizational goals, steward our visual and social media strategy, and support campaigns around issues such as housing justice, improving public education, healthcare, immigrant justice, and more. This role will focus on building digital audiences of working class Black, Asian, Latinx, and immigrant communities in Virginia while creating compelling content that advances our mission.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Digital Engagement Coordinator reports to the Digital Director. The DEC, in partnership with their team, will:
Strategy
+ Contribute to the development, delivery, and reporting on engagement and digital plans to cultivate meaningful connections and meet organizational goals for organizing issues and programs
+ Support and contribute to digital campaigns, strategy, and ideation
+ Manage a calendar for content creation related to specific campaigns in collaboration with the rest of the digital team
Digital Platforms & Website
+ Lead in the production/creation, publishing, and distribution of compelling multimedia digital content (video, audio, graphics, captions, copy) across NVM digital channels (including social media accounts, email newsletters, etc.)
+ Support and lead multi-platform messaging, listening, and base building activities
+ Support the creation of content that reinforces our mission and message across diverse formats, including social media, digital ads, printed reports, and web assets
+ Maintain brand consistency across all design materials, adjusting for each platform's unique needs and audience
+ Execute digital campaign strategies to grow online membership and engagement of our online supporters in taking action, particularly our working-class community of color base
Other responsibilities:
+ Provide rapid response digital support
+ Support tracking systems to move digital supporters along an engagement cycle
+ Measure campaign and content effectiveness and refine to improve performance to maximize results (in partnership with programmatic teams)
+ Help lead group and one-on-one skills sharing sessions to improve staff/member digital communication fluency (for example, social media tutorials, how to use Canva, etc.)
+ Periodically liaise with contractors on projects as needed
+ Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications :
+ Committed to New Virginia Majority's mission of social, racial, and economic justice
+ Experience creating high-quality digital content and campaigns to move people to take action
+ Excellent project management and time management skills: ability to rapidly respond to day-to-day needs while conceiving and implementing bigger projects over time
+ Experience with CMSs, social media platforms, texting platforms, Adobe Creative Cloud
+ Excellent organizational skills, including superior attention to detail
+ Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $55,000- $60,000 (with an additional $5k cost of living adjustment if the hired individual is based out of the Northern Virginia office). Offer is commensurate with experience, and comes with an excellent benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and stipends for phone and transportation. NVM covers 100% of the cost for medical, dental, life and short-term disability insurance for our full-time employees and we provide transportation and cell phone allowances every month. Additionally, we provide family and medical leave, paid parental leave, 401b employer match, accruable vacation and sick leave and we offer flex-time and telework options for our staff.
