    _The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

    Responsibilities:

    GENERAL PURPOSE:

    Conducts specialized and highly complex analysis of financial data in support of the various University Finance functions which involves collaboration with Health Equity Program Support Office (HEPSO), Program Analysis, and Ambulatory Administration. Identify and research material variances by working with University and related entity personnel. Independently manages professional finance and accounting work requiring knowledge and application of general accounting theory, techniques and practices and thorough knowledge of the University accounting system. With minimal direction and latitude for independent judgment ensures compliance and best use of financial instruments. Able to prioritize and complete tasks with competing demands.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Manage Day to Day Financial Operations of Health Equity Program Support Department which include approval of purchases, reconciliation review, and financial reporting.

    + Meet with department administrators to build financial summaries for Certificate of Need (CON) applications. Compare business case in department CON board presentation for capital project against actuals for 3-year lookback.

    + Sit on Business Improvement Plan (BIP) Committee to review submittals from departments along with team for accuracy. Review high level financial reports for trends and areas of concern.

    + Develops program and project budgets and justifications in accordance with stakeholder’s priorities. Meets regularly with department program administrators and accounting staff, and others as appropriate to review spending. Review financial ledgers and reports with SMH Finance as appropriate.

    + Develop business plan for new technology requests. Perform lookback for financial performance of new technology items that were approved six months ago.

    + As assigned, assumes responsibility for special projects involving research, planning and recommending changes. Assumes responsibility for the project, establishes time tables, activity plans and coordinates the efforts of any subordinate staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

    + Master's degree strongly preferred.

    + 4 years of related experience required.

    + Or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    + Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal supervision preferred.

    + CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
