    The **Furniture Handler** will support the Directorate Of Public Works (DPW) Housing Division, Furnishings Management Office (FMO), with furniture and material handling support.

    Responsibilities

    + Efficiently execute work of various types associated with warehousing operations, receiving furniture orders, and turn-ins.

    + Transport, load, and unload furniture.

    + Responsible for day-to-day furniture transactions, inventory, shipping and receiving, staging and storage, packing and palletizing, material handling equipment systems, movement, storage, and accountability related to facility furnishings and equipment.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + High School Diploma

    + Minimum one (1) year of experience with furniture handling, furniture transport, warehouse and inventory practices, and storage and handling techniques.

    + Minimum one (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, banding apparatuses, and stretch wrap machines.

    + Possess a valid driver’s license.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Ability to load and unload heavy objects, and store and move furniture without mechanical aid.

    + Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory, and warehousing operations.

    + Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions

    + Ability to operate a 5-ton truck with liftgate.
