    What you’ll be able to do:

    We’re seeking a diligent, detail-driven professional to provide vital expertise in support of our materials planning & logistics activities. We’re looking to optimize our efforts in safety, quality and productivity. This involves applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to advance continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

    In this role you will:

    + Identify and drive implementation of current and forward model freight savings ideas to contribute to North American Material Logistics cost efficiency roadmap tasked with reducing annual freight spend

    + Oversee on-time completion of Forward Model deliverables supporting final logistics design launch plan and timeline.

    + Deliver an end-to-end analysis for all powertrain and vehicle programs

    + Define Yard requirements, inventory float plan, rack fleet sizes, detailed premium flows and docks

    + Design a detailed network design that can be implemented to support a new model program’s program approval (PA) and ensure investments (e.g. Yard, Fast Gates, etc.) are approved and available for implementation for TT and PP builds.

    + Ensure transit times are aligned with 3 rd party service providers (e.g. Pace and Penske) prior to submission

    + Confirm Ford’s drop vs live unload is confirmed with Operations and its assembly plants ensuring dunnage is dropped off and picked up from the same location

    + Complete all Forward Model Milestones & Ad-hoc studies accurately and on-time

    + Serve as a single point of contact for North American Material Logistics including coordinating department study responses to studies and department reviews

    + Influence packaging design with the goal of increasing rack re-utilization or cubic density

    + Positively influence Program sourcing decisions to impact Bull's Eye (distance/m3) sourcing in an effort to reduce freight costs and minimize import duty exposure

    + Support Global Council Steering Teams (GCSTs) and Resourcing Implementation Board (RIB) with accurate and timely study responses to achieve total enterprise cost decisions.

    + Champion / Drive Total Landed Cost Decision

    + Develop and maintain plant-specific current model freight database

    + Design and launch Forward Model networks within approved program cost-per-unit targets

    + Interface with plant launch personnel to ensure efficient and effective network planning

    + Complete/drive projects that improve NAML team skillset, improve efficiency, and/or improve input/output accuracy

    + Complete/drive projects that improve processes, standardization, and communication with NAML partners (MFE, Penske, MBO, Program Management, Purchasing, etc.)

    + Develop and analyze various material logistics reports and metrics.

    + Travel Requirements: Up to 20% within North America on an as needed basis

     

    You'll have...

     

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + 2+ years of manufacturing experience

    + Demonstrated ability to produce quality results under time constraints, sometimes in team setting, other times alone

    + Ability to produce forecasted costing, analyze costing, and teach others the physical drivers of the cost elements

    + Operational familiarity with database manipulation utilizing MS Excel, MS Access, etc.

    + Operational familiarity with RPA creation & GDIA tools- experience with Alteryx, Tableau, QlikView, etc.

    + Motivated to plan aggressively, accept challenges, take responsibility for assignments, and deliver objectives on time

    + Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, and time management skills

    + Positive attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Desire to learn. Proactive mindset when it comes to issue identification and resolution.

    + Demonstrated history of delivering results on time and with high quality

    + Team player (required) and willing to take a leadership role.

     

    Even better, you may have…

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or similar discipline

    + 5+ years of automotive manufacturing experience

    + 2+ years of logistics experience

    + Practical working knowledge of Ford production part number & naming nomenclature, manufacturing, and assembly plant processes

    + Demonstrated: "One Ford" Behaviors”

    + Project management skills – create and maintain open issue lists, master schedules, lead cross-functional teams, issue resolution, financial tracking and management of program fund spending and equipment procurement. (preferred)
