    Job Overview

     

    TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

    What your background should look like:

    • Identify the needs of the customer/industry as early as possible

    • Gather all information needed to make the design input available as complete as possible.

    • Work out, prepare and present proposals (product selection, design solutions and project objectives)

    • Gain, correctly interpret and apply to customer information, internal data and divers research results (markets, competition, technology road-maps, trends)

    • Project Management of new and existing sales and engineering projects from demand creation to production:

    • Interface between the Engineering design team and the customer to ensure that both sides understand the requirements and have all needed information available

    • Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project

    • management, marketing, etc.)

    • Ensure on time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities

    • Provide regular project status updates to the involved parties

    • Develop and maintain a good customer relationship and support customer in technical related items.

    • Continuously caring for a good trusting relationship between the customer and TE

    • Stay in permanent contact with the customer and report project status and feedback

    • Attend project meetings and conduct regular customer calls and presentations

    • Do problem solving and assessing technical complaints

    • Help quality teams solve problems with applications with on-site evaluation and detailed discussion with customers

    • Provide technical consultancy and advise

    • Draft product specifications and make adjustments with the customer

    • Revenue Growth

    • New Product Stream

    • Strive to achieve Extraordinary Customer Experience for both internal and external customers

    • Customer projects on time within budget

    • Alignment to key customer projects, innovation, technology advancement

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree in one of the academic discipline's mechanics, electrics, electronics or relevant experience

    • Minimum 1-3 years professional level engineering experience or present technical proven interest and capabilities

    • Must have demonstrated successful experience in program management

    • Must have business acumen

    • Prior experience in Sales, Connector Industry, Lighting Industry, Manufacturing processes a plus

    • The ability to understand and work out complex technical solutions

    • Capability of creative, analytical and structured thinking with the ability to execute on priorities

    • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside)

    • Strong project management skills

    • Strong presentation skills

    • Ability to work toward targets

    • Ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with business plans

    • Willing and able to travel approximately 25%-50% of the time

    • Experience working with MS Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Salesforce

    COMPENSATION

    • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $129,000 – $194,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

    • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

    • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
