    **Job Title** : Kids Fit Instructor (Contractor)

    **Location** : Montgomery County, MD (in-person, multiple sites)

    **Job Type:** Contract

    **Compensation:** $35–$50 per hour (based on experience)

    **Hours:** Part-time, afternoon/evening availability required

    About the Role:

    Are you passionate about helping kids stay active, healthy, and confident? Holy Cross Health is seeking energetic, engaging instructors to lead Kids Fit — a fun, high-energy wellness program for elementary-aged children. This role is perfect for certified fitness professionals, educators, and youth health advocates who love working with kids and want to make a real impact in the community.

     

    This is a contracted position. Instructors must carry personal liability insurance, pass a background check, and commit to delivering consistent, high-quality programming throughout the duration of the contract.

    What You'll Do:

    + Lead interactive, age-appropriate fitness and wellness sessions

    + Create a supportive, inclusive environment where kids can move, learn, and thrive

    + Facilitate activities focused on movement, healthy habits, and basic nutrition

    + Coordinate set-up and clean-up of program space

    + Communicate with Holy Cross Health staff and partner sites for seamless program delivery

    + Track attendance and basic session outcomes

    Required Qualifications:

    + Current fitness certification from an accredited organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA, or NCCA-accredited equivalent)

    + Experience working with children in school, camp, community, or recreation settings

    + CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

    + Strong communication, group facilitation, and organizational skills

    + Reliable transportation to travel between program sites in Montgomery County

    + Liability insurance (proof of insurance required upon contract signing)

    + Ability to pass a background check

    + Availability during weekday afternoons or early evenings

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Degree or coursework in public health, physical education, child development, or a related field

    + Bilingual (Spanish, Amharic, or other languages common in Montgomery County)

    + Experience in community-based wellness, health education, or group fitness instruction
