    JOB DESCRIPTION

    + Direct the day to day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.

    + Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.

    + Participate and cooperate with any facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.

    + Participate in implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.

    + Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required providing information to assure continuity of care.

    + Makes daily resident visits to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status.

    + Makes rounds with physician and records visits in the medical record.

    + Ensures that all staff follows the Not No But How concept.

    + Ensure that resident rights are followed.

    + Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPPA).

    + Answer telephone calls when necessary.

    + Performs other duties as required
