Join our accomplished team in Duluth, MN as a our Stroke Program Manager. St. Mary's Medical Center is a 344 bed Level 1 Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 24-hr emergency and critical care. Rated high performing in 12 procedures and conditions.Our benefits include:•Health insurance •Dental insurance •Life and Accident Insurance•401K employer contribution•Flexible Spending Account•Employee Assistance ProgramIn this role you will be: Responsible for the development and implementation of processes that facilitate best practices in stroke including care coordination, patient care and achieving desired programmatic goals in collaboration with physicians and leadership teams. Responsible for quality assurance, developing goals and objectives, as well as developing and implementing department wide policies and procedures related to stroke care and Stroke Certification. This individual will facilitate further development of the stroke program. This individual will coordinate with the Emergency Department, Critical Care, Neurology, Nursing Units, Laboratory, Radiology and other support departments that impact the neuroscience delivery system. Participates in State Task Forces/Committee and works to developing the Stroke System of Care throughout the state in a professional manner consistent with Essentia Health's mission and values.
Education Qualifications:
8hrs of stroke specific education completed annually after hire.
Bachelor of Nursing preferred
East and Central Markets:
Minnesota RN Licensure preferred
Current NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required within 6 months of hire.
Current specialty Stroke Certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire. (SCRN, CNRN or ASLS) – **adding to match West**
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
BLS within 30days of hire/transfer
ACLS within 1 year of hire/transfer
