Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. In this contract-to-hire role, you will play a key part in managing the organization's financial processes by ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payment processing and expense tracking. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with advanced accounting systems and contribute to a dynamic financial team.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and in accordance with company policies.

• Ensure proper account coding and documentation for all transactions to maintain compliance with accounting standards.

• Reconcile accounts payable records with general ledger entries to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to address and resolve payment inquiries.

• Utilize accounting software systems, such as Sage 100 and Expensify, to streamline financial operations.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks, including accrual accounting processes.

• Monitor and manage the accounts payable inbox, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and submissions.

• Generate and analyze accounts payable reports to support financial decision-making.

• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for auditing purposes.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices.

Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or related accounting functions.

• Proficient in using accounting software systems, including Sage 100 and Expensify.

• Knowledge of accrual accounting principles and practices.

• Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and processing.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external vendors.
