Recovery specialists provide front line support for patients enrolled in addiction treatment, providing direct care services to support patients on the path to recovery. Recovery Specialists are responsible for conducting ongoing observation of patients and documenting and reporting their behavior, physical
condition and location as well as engaging individuals in their own recovery. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the recovery specialist participates in maintaining/promoting a therapeutic milieu.

The Recovery Specialist’s Responsibilities Are:
+ Ensuring the safety and structure of the program milieu by monitoring client activities
+ Observes and supervises clients and unit; conducts 30 minute client well-being checks
+ Conducts telephone admission screenings as well as other admissions duties
+ Searches client belongings on admission and at discharge, or as otherwise directed by supervisor
+ Completes all necessary checklists, shift documentation and record keeping in a timely manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
+ Experience working with substance use population is preferred
+ Valid MA Driver’s License in good standing preferred
