Overview
The Sales and Production Associate will be responsible to perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. They will maintain order, create and sustain a ple a sant and hospitable work environment, and maintain good customer relationships.
Responsibilities
General
+ Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintaining positive customer relationships.
+ Assist, as required, with store operations.
+ Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient maru1er.
+ Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
+ Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
+ Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and "ragged out" in accordance with the rag out calendar.
+ Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
+ Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
+ Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
+ Be well-versed in and comply withGuide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operationsmanual as it pertains to this position.
+ This position will support community service and volunteers by providing an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
+ Other duties may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Manager, Warehouse Supervisor
+ and/or Corps Officer.
+ Depending on store size, staffing levels, and production needs, you may be asked to perform any or all the following:
Cashier/Sales Floor
+ Comply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits
+ Sort, piece, stock and "rag out" showcase merchandise and other areas as directed
+ Restock fitting room merchandise back to racks in proper category and color code
+ Maintain merchandise displays as directed
+ Answer telephone calls in an efficient, friendly, professional manner
Sorter
+ Sort minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department
+ Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed
+ Assist with hanging merchandise as needed
+ Assist running clothing racks as needed
Hanger/Tagger
+ Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour of clothing on rolling racks from sorting table by department on the correct hanger type, and by category
+ Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed
+ Assist in sorting clothing as needed
+ Assist running clothing racks as needed
Pricer
+ Price a minimum of250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality, and condition of each piece
+ Acquire and maintain knowledge of name brand merchandise and value
+ Assist moving the donations to the sorting table as needed
+ Assist ticketing merchandise as needed
+ Assist with running clothing racks as needed
Runner
+ Place a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor on the proper rack by department, category, and color order
+ Straighten and maintain the clothing racks of the depa1tments as assigned
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calendar
+ Assist hanging merchandise as needed
Bric a Brac
+ Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily
+ Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item
+ Process to the sales floor required number of items to maintain stocked shelves
+ Place and maintain all merchandise on sales floor in the required order and manner
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calendar
Shoes/Accessories
+ Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags, and accessory donations daily
+ Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item
+ Process a to the sales floor minimum of 25 pieces/sets per hour
+ Maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner on sales floor
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calenda
Domestics
+ Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required
+ Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item
+ Process to the sales floor minimum 150 items daily to maintain stocked shelves
+ Maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner on sales floor
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calendar
Books/Records/Toys
+ Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily as required
+ Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair market price for each item in accordance with established policies
+ Process to the sales floor required number of items daily to maintain stocked shelves
+ Maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner on sales floor
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calendar
Furniture/Electrical
+ Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required
+ Ticket all electrical merchandise using "sold as is" tickets and assign an individual fair market price for each item
+ Complete furniture tickets and record required information assigning a fair market price for each furniture item
+ Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and mam1er on sales floor
+ Mark dow11 furniture items on sales floor in accordance with policy
+ Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Rag Out Calendar
Receiving Donations/Maintenance
+ Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor (dusting shelves & sweeping floor), bathrooms, entry, window sidewalks, and parking areas daily
+ Accept donations in accordance with standard policies while providing courteous, respectful service to the donor
+ Receive and receipt, as per policy, all donated material in a courteous and efficient manner
+ Maintain cleanliness of all donation facilities
+ Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment
+ Ensure a constant flow of donations to the sorting table throughout the day
+ Assist with ragging out the sales floor as assigned
+ Bale ragouts and trash as required
+ Complete lawn and garden work as needed
