    Job Title: Electrical Service Technician (FIELD)

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Technician skilled in testing transformers, particularly in the low to medium voltage range of 35-45k volts. This role is ideal for Relay Techs, Power Distribution Technicians, or Industrial Electricians. The technician will perform repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of low and medium voltage circuit breakers both in a shop environment and on-site, along with maintenance and testing of power distribution equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform repairs, upgrades, and overhauls of low and medium voltage circuit breakers in a shop environment and on-site.

    + Provide on-site maintenance and testing of electrical power distribution equipment at customer facilities throughout the Acadiana, LA area.

    + Lead and train other team members in repairing equipment in the absence of a Shop Foreman or Service Manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Demonstrated mechanical and electrical abilities working with hand and power tools.

    + Comfortable testing transformers at 35-45k volts.

    + Understanding and repair of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC, and air compressors.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Journeyman license.

    + EPA certification for refrigeration.

    + Experience with VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and 'across the line' motor starting.

    + Factory training in diesel, generator, compressor, and HVAC equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    The role involves both shop work and field service, with a majority of tasks being performed in the field. On-call rotations are part of the schedule. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Previous experience in an industrial/construction environment is preferred, and OSHA 10 certification is a plus. High School Diploma is required; a technical degree or certificate is a plus.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Broussard, Louisiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
