    THE POSITION

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days per week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them with engaging in stimulating activities, you will play a significant role in their wellbeing. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

    + Work hours are 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), or 3rd shift (10:30 PM to 6:00 AM), with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Working every other weekend is required on all shifts.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    + DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania’s veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry;or

    + Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

    + This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry

    Additional Requirements:

    + You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:

    + A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

    + This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

    + Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
