    The Position

    Casework Management Specialists provide case management services for children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar residential setting.

     

    The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is hiring for a Casework Management Specialist Supervisor. This position will be located in one of the Child Welfare offices Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Pahrump, Winnemucca or Yerington. This Casework Management Specialist Supervisor is responsible for the creation and implementation of the agency wide Quality Assurance (QA) unit. The QA supervisor is responsible for a wide range of projects involving their unit and the agency as a whole. Work projects and products include Child Death Reviews, new and revised policy and procedures, corrective action plans, PIP activities, internal training/memos and agency improvement plans. Coordination and completion of case reviews, data analysis and recommendations for improvement, assistance in regular performance audits and; analysis of caseworker performance and rural region/statewide child welfare data. They will create and present curriculum to address training needs of new workers, to promote uniform practice and to be in compliance with federal/state laws; communicate and present to leadership, stakeholders and staff, identify practice issues not in compliance with federal/state mandates and make recommendations to leadership team.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, gerontology, or closely related social science or human services related field and four years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children or vulnerable and/or older adults in a health and/or human services setting, one year of which included supervising staff who provide case management services to children or vulnerable and/or older adults in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above.

    Special Requirements

    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

     

    Positions may be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
