Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Responsibilities:

+ Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist (PT) to improve mobility, strength, and balance

+ Provide hands-on therapy techniques such as gait training, therapeutic exercises, and functional mobility training

+ Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and techniques for continued progress at home

+ Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist

+ Ensure a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions

+ Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes

+ Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and facility guidelines

+ Stay current with best practices and continuing education to enhance clinical skills

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Requirements:

• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapy, or outpatient physical therapy is preferred

• Strong understanding of therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and post-acute rehabilitation
