Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER, Position Description Number D2320000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. Responsibilities Determines test method, and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interprets nondestructive inspection test results, and provides information about defects to repair center. Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detects flaws such as cracks, delaminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, Thermography, Shearography and ultrasonic test equipment. Applies magnetic particle and/or liquid penetrant inspection to detect and interpret the relevancy of flaws in a variety of parts. Uses and maintains tools. Maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Maintains records and documents actions. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-4 or E-5 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicants RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. 2. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. 3. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. 4. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
