    Responsibilities

    The Wound Ostomy Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

    Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    + Obtain medical histories when necessary.

    + Perform physical exams (within established wound or surgical protocol).

    + Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol wound or surgical guidelines).

    + Order diagnostic tests.

    + Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).

    + Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

    + Assist wound center providers with wound or surgical clinic procedures.

    + Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality.

    + Make follow-up calls to check patient progress.

    + Work closely with wound center nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.

    + Assist wound center providers and inpatient wound nurse(s) with inpatient wound consults as well as see these patients independently.

    + Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience

    + Master's degree in nursing or Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program

    Required Licensure and Certifications

    + Certified Nurse Practitioner, Certificate of fitness through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Licensed as an RN in the state of TN, and Licensed as a CRNP in state of TN, required, or State PA License required

    + AHA BLS required

    Pay Range

    $42.78 - $51.12 /hour
