Position Summary:
As part of a team of public health professionals, the Community Relations Liaison will actively engage with clinical providers and community-based stakeholders to promote/coordinate comprehensive breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening and diagnostic services to eligible uninsured and underinsured individuals in NYS throughout Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties. The medically underserved or underserved including, but not limited to, individuals who experience barriers to services due to race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, cultural isolation, and/or geographic location.
Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor’s degree in community/public health, health education or similar field is required. A Master’s degree and experience working with healthcare/behavioral health providers is preferred.
+ A valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must. Must use own vehicle for travel within five counties the grant serves: Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties. Mileage Reimbursement is provided.
+ Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, occasional evenings and a weekend day.
+ Knowledge of Preventive Cancer Screening Recommendation, Basic Medical Terminology recommended.
• **Job Duties and Responsibilities:**
The Community Relations Liaison will plan and execute a range of community-based outreach initiatives. In this role, s/he will:
+ Work directly with healthcare providers and community-based organizations in the Greater Capital Region to provide guidance and technical assistance, policy development, quality improvement, needs assessment, and customized trainings in the clinical setting.
+ Respond in a timely, concise, and intelligible fashion to inquiries from providers, local elected officials, collaborating partners, and community stakeholders as part of the department’s day-to-day operations.
+ Disseminate public health information to members of the community and other interested parties.
+ Our preferred candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is detailed-oriented, proficient in a fast-paced, changing environment and comfortable working in a cross-interdisciplinary team environment.
Pay range: $25.85-$37.50
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
