Job Description
Purpose:
The Program Specialist I-IV provides and coordinates professional-level administrative support to academic programs and may assign duties for specified programs.
Responsibilities:
+ Schedule undergraduate and graduate courses every year in coordination with the department head and associate department head .
+ Oversee the Teaching Assistantship application process and assist the department head and associate department head in the decision process.
+ Assist with the Curricular Approval Request System (CARS) for the department.
+ Maintain graduate and undergraduate certificates, and undergraduate minor.
+ Assists in planning and implementing special events and logistical arrangements academic program events such as graduation.
+ Assist with graduate program qualifying exams planning and execution.
+ Help in posting undergraduate and graduate scholarships in the university system.
+ Maintain an alumni database and update the database regularly.
+ Assist with the annual catalog updates.
+ Assist faculty with ABET and AEFIS accreditation activities.
+ Help faculty run recruitment programs for the Department’s graduate programs such as Research Experience for Undergraduates.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications*
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist I:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ No experience required.
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist II:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Two years of related experience
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist III:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Three years of related experience
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist IV:
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Six years of related experience
*Compensation and classification is based on the analyses of the above qualifications during the recruitment process.
Work Location:
+ Main Campus – College Station, TX.
+ Some positions may have potential for a flexible work schedule or location.
