Position Summary

A NIH / NCI -funded postdoctoral position is open for an energetic, motivated MD, DVM , or Ph.D. scientist interested in studying the interplay of social and molecular determinants in lung cancer disparity. Specifically, the proposed research will offer a chemokine-based patient stratification and chemokine as a target for therapies; establish immune-based strategies to reduce disparity, and evidence-based social interventions to potentiate anti-tumor immunity to reduce risk and improve survival of lung cancer ( NSCLC ) patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: PhD or MD in biomedical science from an accredited college or university

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Postdoctoral fellow will conduct chemokine-based studies to establish immune-based strategies to reduce disparity and evidence-based social interventions to potentiate anti-tumor immunity to reduce risk and improve survival of lung cancer ( NSCLC ) patients. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to conduct active lab research on a semi-independent basis: Design and evaluate experiments; conduct experiments, data collection, and analysis, present research progress at national and international and weekly lab meetings, develop new ideas that promote current research; prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the principal investigator (PI); apply for postdoctoral fellowships under the direction of Scientist (PI); attend and give seminars; bring new expertise to the research program. In addition, the postdoctoral fellow is expected to perform other duties assigned by the PI, i.e., train and oversee graduate students and participate in other laboratory activities.
