The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a visionary Health Care Facilities Executive Director to provide leadership and comprehensive management for a system of seven (7) state-run health care facilities servicing complex patient populations. This pivotal role involves overseeing programs and services, strategic planning, financial stewardship, human resources management, physical plant and information system operations, regulatory compliance, quality enhancement, and risk management. One of the Executive Director’s primary responsibilities will be supporting the recruitment and retention of key clinical positions at DPHHS facilities and collaborating with facility leadership to reduce contract staffing expenditures. Alongside facility leadership the Executive Director will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements from agencies such as CMS, CDC, OSHA, and compliance with the Montana Code Annotated (MCA), the Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM), and any applicable accreditation standards. This role is critical in guiding senior leadership and executive teams across all seven (7) facilities, championing the highest standards in patient care, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience. *Qualifications for this Career Opportunity*** * * * In-depth knowledge of health care laws and regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement methodologies. * Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and resource allocation * Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; with the ability to inspire and motivate senior leadership teams often comprised of seasoned clinicians. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field o *Multi-facility health system*leadership experience is required. o Minimum of 10 years years progressive leadership experience in health care administration,*experience with government health care facilities is strongly preferred.*** o Proven track record of managing large, complex health systems and driving operational and financial improvements, including recruitment and retention of staff in rural or frontier facilities. o Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community health care providers, law enforcement and judicial system partners, community organizations, patients’ rights and advocated and regulatory bodies. * * *How to Apply*** To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
