    Boeing Defense Space and Security** **(BDS)** is looking for an **Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Systems/Software Safety Engineer** to join the Systems Safety team on the Fighters program located in **Berkeley, MO.

     

    As a member of the Systems Safety engineering team, this individual will be working closely with the customer & other program teams (software, platform systems, flight engineering, production, integration, testing, and product support) to identify all potential safety hazards and to develop associated mitigation for incorporation into the final design. This position best suited for someone with strong critical thinking skill, works well in a diverse team environment, ability to apply Seek, Speak and Listen methodology to efficiently connect with teammates and customers. Strong written and oral communication is also an important part of this assignment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Identifies, analyzes, and assesses safety and mission risks to establish aerospace system, product, or service safety mitigations and control methods.

    + Conducts system research and analysis to identify potential or investigate reported in-service fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns and quantifies impact.

    + Identifies safety and mission assurance issue systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using industry best practices.

    + Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety, mission success, and airworthiness requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures.

    + Verifies system meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements through conducting and supporting tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations.

    + Creates and maintains aerospace safety and mission assurance training, tools, and resources.

    + Documents safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory standards.

    + Develops and maintains corrective action plans.

    + Demonstrates safety hazard risk mitigations and control methods to the customer and regulators.

    + Ensures mission success through execution of Mission Assurance activities throughout the program lifecycle.

    + Establishes, promotes, and enacts strategies and initiatives to enhance global aerospace safety.

     

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

    + Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, science, physics or chemistry

    + 2 or more years of experience in an engineering related field (ie. Computer Science, Systems Engineering)

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + Experience as a software, safety or systems engineer or equivalent

    Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

     

    Associate Level: $81,600 - $110,400

     

    Mid-Level: $97,750 - $132,250

     

    Senior Level: $119,850 - $162,150
