Summary
The Director of Optimization & Analytics will play a pivotal role in the Simplot finance transformation initiative, serving as the principal designer of our financial data architecture and reporting solutions. This position bridges technical expertise with finance domain knowledge to create a unified, efficient, and insightful financial information ecosystem that enables data-driven decision making across the organization. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Finance Transformation and Governance and will work closely with the CFO, IT leadership, and finance business partners to drive our finance modernization strategy forward.
Key Responsibilities
+ Manage a team responsible for design and implementation of an integrated finance data architecture that connects disparate systems, standardizes data models, and ensures single source of truth for financial information
+ Lead a cross-business community of practice (COP) focused on data requirements to develop the technical blueprint for financial reporting solutions that deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels
+ Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies for financial data management, analysis, and visualization that integrate primarily with, but not limited to, our current SAP and Microsoft roadmaps
+ Develop governance frameworks with the assistance of the COP, specific to financial information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
+ Partner with IT, finance business partners, and operations teams to align data architecture with business requirements and strategic objectives
+ Enhance or automate monitoring of current data quality solutions to ensure the integrity of financial information
+ Architect self-service analytics capabilities that empower finance teams to access and analyze data independently
+ Develop documentation standards for data lineage, metadata, and business definitions for financial information
+ Guide the transition from legacy reporting systems to modern, integrated solutions with minimal business disruption
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Computer Science or Data Science, Information Systems or related fields; Master's degree preferred
+ 10+ years of experience in data architecture, business intelligence, or similar roles with substantial focus on financial systems
+ Deep understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, regulatory reporting and management reporting requirements
+ Strong technical expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data lake design
+ Experience with major ERP systems, financial planning applications, and reporting tools
+ Proven track record designing and implementing data warehouse solutions for finance
+ Knowledge of data visualization best practices and experience with leading BI platforms
+ Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to finance audiences
+ Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex technology implementations
Preferred Skills
+ 5+ years of management experience
+ Professional certifications in data management, business intelligence, or finance technology
+ Experience with cloud-based financial systems and integration approaches
+ Knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling applications in finance
+ Background in finance transformation initiatives or major system implementations
+ Understanding of emerging technologies in financial data management and reporting
