    What we are looking for:

    The Adhesives R&I group is seeking a highly motivated Researcher with experience in adhesives or in other aerospace environments to join its Alpharetta, GA team. The Researcher will support and work collaboratively with Research scientists on the development of new adhesive products for aerospace applications. The Researcher is responsible for planning, executing and reporting lab experiments and results to the Adhesives R&I team.

    We count on you for:

    + Maintains a safe work environment for self and others

    + Devise and execute experimental plans for the formulation development and characterization of adhesives via collaboration with a Research Scientist

    + Possess the necessary knowledge and experience to perform mixing and coating procedures

    + Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect and organize data; communicate results to research scientists in both written and verbal form

    + Document and maintain accurate records of all experiments and testing in a laboratory notebook

    + Operate and maintain relevant equipment and instrumentation. Arranges for maintenance and repair when necessary

    + Obtains all raw materials and specifications needed to perform assigned tasks. Manages raw material inventory.

    + Read, understand and follow relevant methods, SOPs, customer specifications and work instructions

    + Performs bonding and testing in accordance with customer specifications

    + Responsible for proper mixing equipment operation, clean-up and waste disposal

    + Actively promote safety in the laboratory including following safety standards and SOPs. Actively participate in routine safety inspections and attend safety meetings

    + Functional knowledge of computer software (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    + Must be able to follow directions and work independently

    + Perform other tasks and duties as required

    You will bring:

    + B.S Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related technical field

    + 2+ years relevant experience in a laboratory setting working with adhesives or aerospace related materials

    + Familiarity with laboratory practices associated with thermosetting resins (mixing, coating and fabrication of test specimens and testing) is desired

    + Good understanding of various analytical and material characterization techniques

    + Strong experimental/bench skills and desire to work in the lab

    + Capability to solve technical challenges when they arise and propose solutions

    + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a Research Scientist or manager and to work independently on projects

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    You will get:

    + The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
