Staff Accountant
Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a full-time (FT) experienced Staff Accountant to performs a variety of complex finance and accounting activities applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports to ensure accurate accounting record.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
• Prepares assigned journal entries during monthly close process
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly
• Reconciles bank operating and payroll cash accounts monthly
• Prepare and send monthly rent invoices
• Gathers and prepares hospital and clinic statistics for the monthly close file
• Perform random petty cash audits
• Assist with preparation of annual DSH survey
• Completes assigned workpapers for annual and interim cost report
• Completes assigned workpapers for annual financial audit
• Prepares Press Ganey reports
+ Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance.
+ Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in related field
• Knowledge of functions, capabilities and operation of computer-based billing and patient accounts management systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills; ability to interpret procedural guidelines and governmental regulations.
• Must use software to develop spreadsheets for analytical purposes.
• Familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel.
• Follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations and guidelines.

Physical Setting: Hospital
Schedule: Eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week, but may require additional hours as workload warrants.
Experience: Minimum four (4) years’ experience with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel.
Working Conditions: Office environment; Able to tolerate rapid fluctuations in work load and multiple priorities.
