Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our insurance client's growing accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

+ Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records.

+ Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing schedules and analyses.

+ Perform account analysis and identify discrepancies, working to resolve them in a timely manner.

+ Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.

+ Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

+ Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

+ Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

+ Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures.

+ Provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed.

+ Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.

+ Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 3 years of relevant accounting experience.

+ Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Strong organizational and time-management skills.

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
