Job Description
As a Forklift Operator, you will utilize a sit-down forklift to pick and pull orders, as well as load and unload trucks on a daily basis. You will receive orders from customers, pick the requested items, and prepare them for loading onto customer trucks. Your typical day will consist of 60% forklift operation and 40% manual labor. You will interact with over 100 customers daily, assisting them with will-call orders. It is essential to read instructions, understand procedure manuals, and maintain a clean and organized work area while having a comprehensive understanding of all products.
Responsibilities
+ Operate sit-down forklift to pick and pull orders.
+ Load and unload trucks efficiently.
+ Receive and process customer orders for will-call pickups.
+ Wrap products and pick items by hand from pallets.
+ Rearrange the warehouse as needed to optimize space.
+ Interact with customers, providing excellent customer service.
+ Ensure the work area is clean and meets safety standards.
+ Perform general warehouse duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in operating forklifts.
+ Experience in material handling and general labor.
+ Ability to load and unload inventory effectively.
+ Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 1-2+ years of warehouse experience is mandatory.
+ Preferably certified in forklift operation.
+ Prior experience in construction or building materials is a plus.
+ Experience with commercial doors, frames, or hardware is highly preferred.
+ Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-discipline.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
