    Purpose:

    The position will support the origination and execution of equity-linked capital markets transactions, including, convertible bonds, mandatory convertibles, call spreads, and additional equity-linked instruments. There will be frequent interaction with senior team members and ample opportunity for career growth and development.

    What You’ll Do

    + Market and financial analysis including comparable transactions, trading/technical trends, and valuation.

    + Conduct pricing and modeling of new issue equity-linked securities

    + Preparation and assembly of client presentations.

    + Database creation and maintenance largely focused on the equity new issue marketplace in the U.S. and Scotiabank’s business therein.

    + Assistance with various internal projects to support the investigation and development/enhancement of new business initiatives.

    + Assistance with the execution of new issue transactions including the development of internal memoranda, liaising/presenting to internal committees and working with external transaction partners (i.e. other banks, legal counsel, accountants).

    + Drafting and reviewing transaction documentation.

    + Liaising with other departments of Scotiabank, including Investment Banking and Sales & Trading.

    What You’ll Bring

    + Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

    + The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.

    + A high level of attention to detail.

    + The ability to perform effectively in a team environment.

    + Willingness to work hard, including extended hours.

    + Working knowledge of the various financial asset classes through appropriate coursework and/or previous employment.

    + Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills are necessary for the successful applicant.
