    Description:

    Clinical Services Manager

    **Position:** Clinical Services Manager - Onsite Virtual Nursing

    **Position Summary:** Reporting to a Director responsible for a group of Clinical Services for the hospital site and with/through subordinate personnel, assumes management responsibility for a single major (or multiple smaller) function(s), service(s) or process(es) that provides support to clinical operations. Provides 24-hour accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services for one or more clinical areas and staff performance. Requires a high level of independent judgment and substantial latitude for independent action. Direct reports may include Clinical Leaders, Coordinators and/or high-level professional/administrative exempt and Nursing supervisory personnel.

    What the Clinical Services Manager will need:

    + Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).

    + Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.

    + Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan;

    + Minimum of three years clinical experience in an acute care setting with progressively more responsible leadership experience.

    + Preferred: Two years prior supervisory or manager experience and five years of clinical experience in similar areas

    What the Clinical Services Manager will do:

    + Initiates, facilitates, and supports communication among a variety of health care providers and with various external agencies.

    + Specifically, the position identifies the need for policy development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with higher-level management input, goals and objectives.

    + Identifies the need for and drafts or defines procedures/protocols in collaboration with higher management input, goals and objectives; modifies procedures/protocols, as necessary.

    + Monitors the quality and quantity of workflow to ensure work is completed.

    + Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires and disciplines.

    + Completes performance appraisals.

    + Develops daily, monthly and/or yearly goals and measures and assists in developing and monitoring budget for single or multiple, closely-related fields, areas or processes and, as requested, assists in assessment of goal attainment
