Description
The Department at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking a scientist or a physician scientist to join our faculty. The position will support pediatric research activities at the Golisano Children’s Hospital Center for Pediatric Research and Pediatric Research Office committed to the future health of children and adolescents.
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to enhancing pediatric research across the Department of Pediatrics, University of Rochester Medical Center, University of Rochester and the surrounding community. It is expected that the successful candidate will expand our research capabilities within the Department of Pediatrics that aligns with the mission of the Department. Specific areas of responsibility include a) leading the innovation and collaborations of pediatric research within the Department, across the Medical Center, University of Rochester, community and industry partners, b) supporting the philanthropic efforts and partner with various funding entities to advance the pediatric research capabilities, and c) coaching trainees and faculty across the Department to advance the transition of their research careers to reach their fullest potential in pediatric research. There are also opportunities to design, participate in and support observational studies and interventional clinical trials within the community. Clinical research training programs, including an institutional KL2 program and those leading to a masters' degree, are available via the CTSA.
The University of Rochester is a major pediatric service provider in upstate/western New York. The Department provides state-of-the-art patient care, training for pediatric residents and subspecialty fellows and is actively engaged in a wide spectrum of clinical, translational and basic research activities. Our highly successful and active primary clinical services are devoted to evaluating and managing children with various pediatric conditions. We offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including consultations, diagnostic testing, and treatment for pediatric conditions. In addition, several Departments, Centers of Excellence, and Core Facilities at the University of Rochester provide the necessary resources to foster the development of personal research interests.

Qualifications
The faculty rank for the position are open and dependent on prior experience. Candidates with M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees or equivalent, are encouraged to apply.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
