The Principal Financial Group is seeking a bold, visionary leader to join our team as Chief Inclusion Officer! As a key member of our senior leadership team, you’ll serve as a culture catalyst, driving strategic initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across our global enterprise. What You’ll Do:
+ **Set the Vision:** Lead and evolve our enterprise-wide DEIB strategy, aligning it with our business goals to create a culture that reflects the richness of diverse perspectives and experiences.
+ **Drive Belonging:** Design and implement initiatives that build strong community, psychological safety, and a true sense of belonging across the organization.
+ **Ignite Innovation:** Champion inclusive practices that enhance creativity, collaboration, and agility — empowering teams to unlock breakthrough thinking.
+ **Collaborate to Win:** Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Talent Development, Learning, Total Rewards, and leaders across the company to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing, diverse workforce.
+ **Shape the Future of Work:** Identify emerging trends and evolving workforce needs to inform forward-thinking, inclusive talent strategies.
+ **Promote Accountability:** Oversee enterprise-wide affirmative action and equal opportunity compliance, ensuring measurable progress and transparency.
+ **Be a Trusted Advisor:** Consult with global HR teams and business leaders to foster an environment that embraces inclusivity, values risk-taking, and celebrates the power of diverse voices.

This role is based in Des Moines, Iowa. Principal will offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates. We are also open to candidates who reside within reasonable proximity and can commit to being on-site multiple times per month to engage with key stakeholders and teams.
Who You Are
+ Bachelor's degree required, plus 10+ years of experience in a large global financial services organization with experience in directly managing/influencing large teams of people
+ Strong global mindset, understanding of various global cultures; knowledge of global diversity is preferred
+ Proven experience operating at the executive or C-suite level in a large global organization
+ In-depth understanding of operating within a large, complex, globally-matrixed organization with the ability to translate global needs to local implementation
+ Record of accomplishment of fostering, driving and implementing innovative ideas with broad impact
+ Strong writing and presentation skills, combined with executive presence
+ A natural, experienced storyteller/spokesperson, able to work with leaders at all levels to construct effective narratives for adoption of change initiatives
+ Strong influencing & negotiation skills with an ability to drive alignment across executives and peers at all levels in an organization
+ Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills combined with a propensity toward creativity and risk taking
+ Passion for engaging and developing people and teams Excellent partnering skills: works collaboratively, effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers, partners and other stakeholders
+ Demonstrated interest and ability to assist in the development of other team members
+ Deep and broad business acumen with the ability to lead change is required
+ Domestic and International business travel 10 - 20 % is required
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$174000 - $236000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
