    Job Description:

    The Vice President, Clinical and Revenue Digital Services (VP-CRDS) is an executive leadership role dedicated to overseeing Intermountain's enterprise clinical and revenue cycle systems and applications. This position is pivotal in managing and providing strategic direction for enterprise-scale electronic health records (EHR) systems and revenue cycle applications, as well as ancillary clinical applications including imaging, pharmacy, laboratory, and other clinical and operational systems.

     

    The VP-CRDS is responsible for evaluating, developing, and recommending long-term strategies and innovation opportunities tailored to the organization's clinical and revenue cycle business needs. This includes assessing the development of health information technology infrastructure, encompassing EHR applications, personal health records, and health information exchanges.

     

    A key aspect of this role involves identifying novel and pragmatic ways to introduce AI-driven systems and capabilities, aimed at creating efficiencies for physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), nurses, and other clinicians. Additionally, the VP-CRDS will focus on optimizing revenue cycle processes through innovative solutions.

     

    As a member of the DTS executive leadership team reporting directly to the SVP & Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), the VP-CRDS contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide digital and technology strategy, ensuring its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. This role also collaborates with other leaders to ensure data accessibility and compatibility with related systems, including technical aspects of EHR system integration.

     

    This position can be performed remotely with frequent expectations to be in-office for key meetings, rounding with team members and internal customers. Candidates who live in, or are willing to relocate to, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, or Montana and are within a reasonable commuting distance to an Intermountain Health care site are preferred.​ Currently, we are not hiring remote workers in the following states: CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, and WA.

    Essential Functions

    Strategic Leadership & Vision

    + The Vice President, Clinical and Revenue Digital Services (VP-CRDS) is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining, managing, and providing strategic direction for the management of large-scale electronic health records (EHR), ancillary clinical, and revenue cycle systems and applications. The VP-CRDS evaluates, develops, and recommends the long-term strategy and innovation opportunities for the health information systems specific to the organization’s business needs. This role also coordinates with other application leaders to make data accessible and compatible with other related systems, including technical aspects of EHR system integration. As a member of the DTS executive leadership team, the VP-CRDS contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide digital and IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. This leader role participates directly in the strategic exploration and implementation of emerging technologies, including AI-driven automation, to enhance clinical and revenue cycle operations and improve patient outcomes.

    Executive Engagement & Governance

    + Oversee EHR, clinical, and revenue cycle and related technology strategy and modernization, leveraging large platform investments to accelerate digital initiatives and ensure seamless integration across departments.

    + Oversee governance and performance of enterprise clinical and revenue cycle digital services to ensure reliability, scalability, and outcomes. Establish standards and best practices for digital service management, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.

    + Lead enterprise-wide clinical and revenue cycle process automation, digital workflows, and self-service capabilities to improve efficiency.

    + Support and help enable business intelligence, analytics, and automation strategies to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.

    + Accelerate intelligent automation adoption to transform clinical and revenue cycle operational workflows, reduce costs, and free up human capital for strategic priorities.

    + Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations related to technology and data security, including HIPAA and HITECH, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

    Leadership, Team Development & Stakeholder Engagement

    + Build strong relationships with business, clinical, and operational leaders to align digital services with enterprise needs for clinical and revenue cycle related technologies and transformation. Advocate for digital innovation and a culture of continuous improvement and technology-enabled business transformation.

    + Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including vendors and partners, to drive digital innovation and ensure the successful implementation of technology initiatives.

    + Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of IT and business professionals responsible for enterprise applications, digital platforms, and business services.

    + Create a culture of innovation throughout clinical and revenue cycle operational teams and foster a relentless pursuit of caregiver satisfaction.

    + Foster a culture of innovation and agility to ensure successful adoption of digital, AI, and automation initiatives within the portfolio of responsibilities.

    + Partner with IT security, data governance, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and security standards.

    Financial & Operational Oversight

    + Manage an enterprise-wide clinical and revenue cycle digital services portfolio budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments and ROI-driven decision-making.

    + Develop KPIs and performance metrics to measure the impact of clinical and revenue cycle digital services and drive continuous improvement.

    + Develop recognized industry reputation, building strong supplier relationships to ensure Intermountain effectively influences supplier roadmaps and strategies.

    + Lead successful vendor relationships and contract negotiations to maximize the value of enterprise clinical and revenue cycle digital solutions.

    Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

    + 12+ years of experience in enterprise IT leadership and clinical and revenue cycle application management.

    + Ability to understand clinical and administrative functions and organize resources to optimize them.

    + Proven experience leading enterprise-wide IT and digital initiatives, including clinical and revenue cycle applications, and automation.

    + Demonstrated track record delivering measurable ROI and outcomes on enterprise scale projects.

    + Strong knowledge of medical devices, cloud computing, AI-driven automation, data analytics, and enterprise technology strategy.

    + Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience as a customer leading operational functions.

    + Experience in healthcare, non-profit, or large enterprise environments.

    + Familiarity with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOC2, PCI-DSS, etc.)

    + Experience with Epic and other enterprise class clinical and revenue cycle technologies.

    Additional Information

    + **_This is an exempt, full-time position with a base pay range of $296,000-359,000._** Pay offers are determined by prior years of relevant experience within the established pay range. In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $133.57 - $206.20
