    Position Overview

    The Manager of Procurement is responsible for overseeing purchasing activities, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring the availability of materials necessary for HAECO operations.

     

    Essential Job Duties

     

    + Work with Director of Procurement & Sourcing in the development and implementation of strategic purchasing plans aligned with company objectives and budgetary constraints.

    + Monitor and manage procurement budgets to ensure adherence to financial objectives and cost saving commitments.

    + Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive procurement plans to ensure proper flow and timely purchase of required parts/materials/tools.

    + Evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high quality cost-effective procurement based on quality, total cost, reliability, and responsiveness.

    + In conjunction with the Manager, Warehouse, manages inventory levels using inventory management systems to meet operational needs while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.

    + Resolve supplier-related issues and address performance, financial, and contractual discrepancies promptly.

    + Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.

    + Remain in contact with Inventory Control, Planning & Maintenance to ensure materials/supplies/tooling needed for projects are available when needed.

    + Ensure all aircraft-related parts are procured from HAECO approved vendors or in accordance with the customer’s directive.

    + In conjunction with Manager, Quality Assurance, ensuring all procured materials and services meet the required standards and specifications.

    + Develop and maintain component exchange program based on customer’s written approval.

    + Analyze purchasing trends, market conditions, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

    + Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop strategies to mitigate them.

    + Prepare reports on purchasing activities, standard procurement KPIs, inventory metrics, and cost savings initiatives for management review.

    + Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

    + Mitigate procurement and inventory-related risks, such as supply chain interruptions and quality issues.

    + Develop and implement procurement processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify areas for improvement and lead process optimization initiatives.

    + Lead and mentor the procurement team providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

    + Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement & Sourcing.

     

    What you need: (Requirements)

     

    Minimum

     

    + A.A. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

    + Five (5) years of experience in procurement

    + Three (3) years supervisory/management experience.

    + Proficiency in procurement software and tools

    + Required Competencies: Strategic Thinking Negotiation Skills, Industry or Functional Knowledge, Financial Acumen, Analytical Skills, Communication Skills, Leadership, Problem-Solving, Attention to Detail, and Adaptability

    + Project management experience

    + Ability to make data-driven decisions and implement strategic initiatives.

    + Must be able to lead people and accept responsibility.

     

    Preferred

     

    + Certification in procurement (such as CPM or CPSM) is a plus

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or related field.

    + Procurement experience in the Aviation field

    Physical Requirements

    + Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.

    + Frequent exposure to the outside hangar areas for meetings and employee relations for varying lengths of time.

    + Infrequent local and out of town travel may be required involving driving and/or flying commercial airlines.

    + Subject to continual loud noises.
