Under the guidance of experienced Security Officer Supervisors, you'll receive comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training to prepare you for the role. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining a safe and secure campus environment, presenting a positive image of a concerned and capable security professional through your bearing, demeanor, and presence. We are looking for dedicated individuals available to work Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm.     Opportunities to Contribute

    + Patrols buildings and grounds on foot and by motor vehicle, looking for suspicious activity, unlocked doors, fires, and vandalism.

    + Acts as a deterrent to criminal activity through presence.

    + Makes decisions and applies discretion on security issues and criminal reporting more frequently during non-business hours due to less managerial oversight.

    + Provides “on-site” security within specific buildings, such as libraries, athletic facilities, and research laboratories.

    + Remains more alert for hazards and security threats due to conditions of darkness.

    + Provides information to visitors, students, and employees or directs such inquiries to appropriate personnel.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    + High School graduation or equivalent

    Required Licenses and Certifications

    + Ability to obtain State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license may result in termination

    A well-qualified candidate will also possess

    + Customer service skills

    + Ability to work with reduced levels of managerial oversight

    + Ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the campus population

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

     

    What You Need to Know

     

    Salary: $18.15/hour.

     

    Schedule/Location: Located in Round Rock, Texas, this position has a schedule of Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
