    Description of Work

    This position works at theManns Harbor Shipyard facilitywith duties to include a variety of technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documentation and materials. Employees typically work dealing with invoices, shipping, receiving, stocking, and disbursing materials, inventory control reports and files. SAP/BSIP program is used in documenting of transactions – packing slips, receipts and shipping records; inspect all materials; put up stock and maintain stock levels; inventory checks. Maneuvering of material with equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks. This position will also travel to other Ferry Maintenance Facilities for parts relays or to perform inventory duties.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    + Computer skills - requisitions, good receipts, service entries, outline agreements, vendor list, maintaining material numbers, invoices, ordering, & general filing.

    + Document all transactions-packing slips, receipts, and shipping records-inspect all materials, goods receipts-put up stock, maintain stock levels, inventory checks.

    + Communicate with outside vendors, set up any special requirements with unloading stock from trucking companies, and correspond with supervisors to let them know when orders have arrived via UPS, FedEx, or other transport, assist in ordering or shipping any products needed in the Ferry Division.

    + Maintain good relationships with other personnel in outlying areas and aid with their orders.

    + Maneuver material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.

    + Keep a safe workplace & environment for others.

    + All other duties as relate to the position.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

    + Demonstrated ability to apply a variety of work-related formulas or mathematical calculations.

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP/BSIP or inventory software program

    + Demonstrated ability to record, compile, summarize and perform basic analysis of data.

    + Demonstrated ability to maneuver material using equipment such as a forklift.

     

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
