    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: STUDENT NURSE RECRUITER

    Position Overview :

    The Student Recruiter will be responsible for outreach, community engagement, and recruiting. They will manage the gathering and use of data to inform strategy and decision-making regarding the schools’ recruitment plan and reputation. Additionally, they will create and execute an outreach strategy to meet enrollment targets for each academic year. This person will also support student enrollment efforts by providing admission information to prospective students, creating communication materials, and representing the school externally at community events. They will also formulate data management techniques for quality data collection and analysis in the SON and Education Department. Reports to System Director Education/SON.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    NURSING PROCESS:

    ** 1. Develops, plans, and leads local initiatives to reach prospective students.

    ** 2. Represents AOMC School of Nursing (SON) at key community events, job fairs and other community outreach events that will bolster enrollment.

    ** 3. Distributes marketing materials to community partners and schedules information meetings at their sites or at accessible venues in the community.

    ** 4. Communicates with existing students and staff to recruit friends and families to access their local ne tworks to support recruitment goals.

    ** 5. Routinely reaches-out to prospective and newly accepted students to keep them engaged, excited and informed about the school.

    6. Systematically gathers market and competitor intelligence and conducts market research; analyzes data and disseminates to faculty.

    COLLABORATION/COORDINATION:

    7. Builds and cultivates relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, and other key stakeholders in the community served by the school.

    8. Works with school leaders, faculty, alumni and staff in planning school-based open houses, enrollment information meetings, and other school-based recruitment events.

    9. Collaborates and communicates regularly with the Systems Director, Unit Directors and Administration to identify and share upcoming school events that help potential students learn more about the AH community.

    10. Devises and implements procedures for efficient data collection, management and analysis to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.

    Communication /DOCUMENTATION

    11. Creates and implements marketing and student recruitment strategic plan in conjunction with Marketing Department. Plan should include enrollment targets, measurements, and an emphasis on online/social media outreach, and community partner outreach.

    12. Builds and maintains online presence with AH as it relates to student recruitment.

    13. Manages and executes an overall enrollment recruitment strategy to meet enrollment goals.

    14. Tracks and analyzes all data regarding student recruitment benchmarks and goals.

    15. Maintains statistical data for SON and Education Department for attendance and staff development.

    16. Demonstrates knowledge and support of AOMC SON and AH mission, and core values.

    ** 17. Demonstrates sound knowledge base, skill level, and decision-making related to student recruitment and effective data management.

    ** 18. Has strong cultural competency skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population.

    19. Assists with reports and data extraction when needed.

    20. Determines appropriate teaching-learning strategies to meet educational need of prospective students and staff.

    21. Develops, implements, and evaluates quality data management strategies for SON and Education

     

    Department.

    PROFESSIONALISM:

    ** 22. Demonstrates an awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.

    COMMITTEE WORK:

    ** 23. Serves on committees, task forces, and work groups on a voluntary and appointed basis in Nursing.

    SELF DEVELOPMENT:

    ** 24. Demonstrates self-directed learning and participates in continuing education to meet own professional development.

    ** 25. Coordinates and collaborates with SON faculty, Education Department staff, System Director and Administration to develop effective recruitment strategies and data management practices.

    26. Collaborates with System Director, Faculty, Unit Directors and Administration in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating recruitment programs.

    EVALUATION

    ** 27. Performs concurrent review of recruitment events and data management practices and analyzes appropriateness of programs and practices at least annually in collaboration with System Director, Unit Directors and Administration.

    quality :

    28. Provides age-appropriate programs to prospective students.

    29. Is familiar with and demonstrates ISO and DNV principles and standards, and participates in the process as appropriate.

    30. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.

    31. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the

     

    customer’s needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with Arnot Health and AH SON.

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

    Current NYS nursing license. B.S. in Nursing required. Child abuse clearance.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum 3 years of nursing practice preferred.

     

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

     

    Efficient Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point)

     

    High level of proficiency with the internet and technology

     

    Excellent time management and organizational skills

     

    Teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of educational principles

     

    Ability to adapt quickly and represent the organization and its brand across multiple settings

     

    High comfort level working with low-income, diverse communities.

     

    Prior experience with student/client/family recruitment in an education or social services setting preferred

     

    Ability to multi-task

    CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) due within 90 days of hire date.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    ** Light physical effort required. Moderate-heavy objects lifted, some reaching and stooping. Flexible scheduling and driving required.

    INFECTION CONTROL:

    Performs frequent hand hygiene when engaging with groups and school-age children.

    EXPOSURE CATEGORY:

    Category II. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. But employment may require exposure to large groups and school-age children.
