Description
The College of Business at Stony Brook University (SBU) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position, Associate Professor of Practice or Lecturer in Marketing, starting in Fall 2025. Responsibilities
+ Develop and teach couses in accordance with the College's needs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
+ Provide mentorship and support for student clubs, internships, case competitions, and other extracurricular activities to enhance student career readiness and development in the marketing field.
+ Participate in administrative and committee work at the College level and as part of the broader University community.
+ For the Associate Professor of Practice position, develop and maintain an active research portfolio.
+ For the Lecturer position, help the Marketing area and the College of Business establish industry connections and create opportunities and engagement activities for students to interact with the financial industry.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
For the Associate Professor of Practice position, a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited program in Marketing or any other related field. For the Lecturer position, a Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited program in marketing or any other related field. A track record of, or demonstrated potential and passion for, excellent teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate marketing courses in marketing. Experience teaching marketing research/analytics. Evidence of ability to qualify for and/or sustain the AASCB scholarly academic status (Associate Professor of Practice) or Scholarly Practitioner status (Lecturer).
Preferred Qualifications:
Interest/experience with teaching marketing strategy or consumer behavior topics is highly desirable. Experience with teaching non-traditional students is also highly desirable. We seek candidates with the ability to provide mentorship and support for student activities which enhance student career readiness and development in the marketing field.
