    License and Certification Qualifications: None required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in customer service preferred.Skills Qualifications: Ability to type and perform clerical duties with a high rate of speed and accuracy; demonstrated skills in oral and written communication; knowledge of transportation policies and procedures; demonstrated skills in organization and problem solving; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to file and maintain documents and records; competent technology skills in word processing, graphics, and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite; ability to become proficient in software tools; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively perform multiple tasks; ability to prepare reports and draft professional business correspondence; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall routing for regular education and special needs students including maintaining database integrity, safety exceptions, student information, and maintenance for the areas assigned.1. Assist in the implementation of all transportation routing policies and procedures.a. Review the status of sex offenders and ensure they are not located at any bus stop and that a student is not required to walk past a sex offender's house.b. Ensure all stops have been checked for safety on an annual basis and that documentation has been completed and filed on each stop.c. Ensure compliance with Aleana's Law.d. Schedule and monitor route verification process ensuring that GCPS complies with Georgia law. 2. Ensure all routes are accurate with critical safety information applied to the map, such as speed, railroad crossings, bridge weight capacity, medians, right and left turn only roads, no cross, and no walk areas.3. Process route changes on a daily basis and process student address discrepancies.4. Enter and maintain all student information received from Synergy SE online5. Troubleshoot and report errors and problems to the Transportation Specialist - Routing.6. Analyze routing data in area of responsibility to improve efficiencies.7. Provide training to transportation and local school users.8. Provide routing support to schools, parents, and department staff.9. Provide customer support training to transportation staff and school personnel in the use of the current routing web application.10. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
