Job Description
We are seeking a growth minded, highly qualified individual to serve as the Chief of Staff for our **_Biologics Science and Technology (Bio S&T)_** organization. The Chief of Staff will drive strategic operating priorities, deliver outcomes that align with the organization’s objectives and help to manage collaborations with key partners. This role will help refine, advance, and execute the broader organizations’ strategy to deliver our business objectives for the enterprise. The candidate will work closely with the VP of Bio S & T and the Leadership Team to assure execution of organization priorities in close collaboration across various functional areas across the enterprise
Role Expectations and Responsibilities:
+ Enable the implementation of the strategic vision, integrating key strategy elements needed to transform the business, with ongoing project/initiative elements needed to run and improve the business.
+ Serve as strategic advisor and thought partner to VP of Bio S & T.
+ Lead and facilitate Portfolio Management across Bio S & T. Proactively identify, manage and execute projects of strategic importance to the Bio S & T Leader where applicable. Projects are often cross-functional, cross-geographical and/or cross-divisional opportunities that require coordination across multiple stakeholders.
+ Set clear objectives and monitor performance of Bio S & T defining and leveraging metrics and KPIs to drive course correction or actions to respond.
+ Establish an overall communication plan for Bio S & T. Coordinate and manage communications, ensuring alignment across the Functional Areas, GSEC and the Manufacturing Division Global Biologics Operating (GBO) Unit.
+ Oversee the management and coordination of key Bio S & T Senior Leader activities such as: Tier Reviews, Leadership Team Meetings, Strategy Reviews, Webcasts, and other activities of similar scope. Manage and optimize meeting structure, including setting agendas, coordinating meeting logistics, and ensuring efficient and productive discussions. Encourage Team building within the leadership team.
+ Organize and facilitate Talent Management Activities, in partnership with HR, across Bio S & T including Succession planning, People Development and Calibration
+ Support/lead content generation of internal/external presentations, as required, to further the VP/LT strategic objectives and to run the business. Ensure presentations are aligned with strategic direction and messages of the Bio S & T, GSEC organization, Manufacturing Division and the company.
+ Coordinate and participate, as requested, in site visits/functional reviews within Bio S & T (both in person and virtual).
+ Coordinate with Finance on profit plan, headcount, progress and tracking.
+ Drive the annual business processes to drive Bio S & T strategy creation, execution and monitoring aligned to business plans.
+ Act with a high degree of independence and authority on behalf of VP of Bio S & T to facilitate productive interactions across our enterprise.
+ Partner and coordinate with the GBO CoS and GSEC CoS Network and leverage the network to ensure efficient execution of LT business and action items
Minimum Requirement Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Engineering, or related field with ten (10) years’ experience in scientific or technical roles involving biopharmaceutical / pharmaceutical commercialization or manufacturing operations
Required Skills and Experience:
+ Demonstrated Extraordinary attention to detail, excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple outcome-focused initiatives simultaneously.
+ Experience in both strategy development and tactical execution- taking an ambiguous concept, developing actions and driving to completion.
+ Effective and efficient partnership, high emotional intelligence and influencing skills internally (within Bio S & T) and externally and across different levels of the organization.
+ Demonstrated excellence in Project management preferably projects spanning multiple functions.
+ Leadership skills – experience spanning both strategic and operational roles preferably across CMC disciplines.
+ Communication Skills- Excellent, Effective, Efficient, and creative written and verbal communication skills. Capability to distil large quantities of complex data into simple messages; and to assess and provide options and recommendations.
+ Flexibility - Ability to work in ambiguous situations, formulate a plan, focus on what matters, drive outcomes, and speak up and be open-minded.
+ Technical Expertise - Proven knowledge and understanding of CMC deliverables and challenges.
+ Strategy Realization – Demonstrated understanding and experience with the key CMC activities and work processes from which to identify strategic improvements, review with departmental leaders, and progress to implementation.
+ Decision making – Capability to make rapid and disciplined decisions and to prioritize multiple assignments **.** Knowledge of practical barriers and opportunities in the organization in current business environment from which to make independent, value-adding decisions facilitating best preparation and utilization of Leadership Team time.
+ Demonstrated ability to use judgement and EQ to determine what decisions should be escalated to Department Leadership or HR for consideration to assure best interests of the full organization vs. succumbing to louder voices.
+ Self-Motivated – Highly independent and able to foresee issues and needs of the organization. Developing and keeping timelines in advance of key activities to assure key milestones and decision points are met and drafts are shared with key stakeholders to shape content to meet needs/demonstrate evolving vision of Leadership.
+ Sense of Urgency – Independently driving progress and action closure from organizational and leadership feedback
+ Finance – Business and financial acumen. Developing and progressing our financial short- and long-term plans with Finance. Driving innovative thinking with LT to identify opportunities to improve productivity, deliver on functional area commitments to efficiency and operational excellence.
+ Time Management – Leading projects to assure time is built in for leadership steer and comment resolution. Applying learnings from past projects to new work assignments.
+ Collaboration – Identifying best practices, or applying best practices when identified by others, from other organizations into the work we do.
+ Discretion - Manage a high level of confidential and sensitive information and data in the fulfilment of duties; requires ability to discern and treat information with appropriate level of sensitivity
+ Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and excel skills.
+ Ability to exercise initiative, flexibility, and tact.

Expected US salary range:
$169,700.00 - $267,200.00
