Job Title: Controls Engineer - Onsite in Menomonee Falls

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Project Engineer to join our expanding business. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and integrating industrial automation solutions across various industries, including food processing, water/wastewater, mechanized machinery, and drive systems. This role offers the unique opportunity to apply industrial automation expertise across a diverse range of sectors.

Responsibilities

+ Work closely with customers to design custom control solutions for industrial machinery and process equipment.

+ Lead execution of assigned projects.

+ Write PLC programs.

+ Develop HMI screens and SCADA solutions.

+ Conduct factory system tests prior to shipment.

+ Develop circuit diagrams using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.

+ Select hardware and create bill of materials.

+ Design panel layout of hardware components.

+ Travel to sites for inspection and system commissioning.

+ Develop and improve upon engineering standards.

+ Work independently and in project groups.

+ Travel domestically and internationally.

+ Prepare project quotations and occasionally participate in customer sales calls.

Essential Skills

+ PLC programming expertise, particularly with Rockwell and Siemens systems.

+ Proficiency in control system design and electrical engineering.

+ Experience with ladder logic and motor control applications.

+ Ability to develop schematic designs and electrical layouts.

+ Skilled in using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for design purposes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Minimum of three years’ experience in programming PLCs, operator interfaces, and SCADA systems.

+ Proficiency with Variable Frequency Drive Systems and motor control applications.

+ Strong written and oral communication skills.

+ Familiarity with machine control design.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office located in Menomonee Falls, with up to 25-35% travel required for site visits. The work environment is dynamic and involves collaborative project groups, as well as independent work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
