    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and optimizing the performance of mechanical components and industrial machinery. You will be responsible for reading dials and meters to assess electrical output, analyzing test results, and adjusting equipment to meet specifications. Your expertise will be applied in evaluating tool designs, fabricating mechanical components, and coordinating design changes with staff.

    Responsibilities

    + Read dials and meters to determine amperage, voltage, electrical output, and input at specific operating temperatures to analyze parts performance.

    + Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.

    + Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills.

    + Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments.

    + Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections.

    + Operate drill press, grinders, engine lathe, or other machines to modify parts tested or to fabricate experimental parts for testing.

    + Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign.

    + Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.

    + Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements for fabrication, assembly, and testing.

    + Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CNC programming and manufacturing engineering.

    + Experience with software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam, GibbsCAM, and Swiss.

    + Knowledge of operating machines like drill presses, grinders, and engine lathes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Understanding of amplifiers, calipers, and gas welding or brazing apparatus.

    + Familiarity with analytical or scientific software, CAD software (SolidWorks), and CAM software (MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or Fusion 360).

    + Experience with development environment software and industrial control software.

    Work Environment

    The position involves working in a dirtier machine shop environment, requiring someone comfortable with getting hands-on and dirty. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour days, with the possibility of five 8-hour days if preferred, and includes 4 hours of overtime on Fridays for clean-up, totaling approximately 45 hours a week.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.09 - $39.90/hr.
