Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer - Onsite in Sussex, WI
Job Description
The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for designing electrical control systems tailored to customer requirements. This encompasses selecting components, identifying suppliers, creating graphical representations using computer-aided drafting, determining manufacturing methods, and defining testing procedures. All systems must align with industry standards and customer expectations. Proficiency in programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interface devices is essential. The role requires professional communication with customers and meticulous generation of system documentation including operating procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Design electrical control systems based on customer requirements.
+ Select components and identify sources of supply.
+ Generate graphical representations of control systems using computer-aided drafting.
+ Identify methods of manufacture and define testing methods.
+ Ensure design consistency with industry standards and customer expectations.
+ Program PLCs and human-machine interface devices.
+ Interface professionally with customers.
+ Generate system documentation including operating procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to understand customer requirements.
+ Use scientific knowledge to solve practical problems.
+ PLC programming (25% of the position).
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Maintain working knowledge of electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, IEC.
+ Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
+ High degree of ethics.
+ Ability to travel and work at remote job sites (up to 10%).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in AutoCAD Electrical panel design.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in PLC programming.
+ Experience in electrical design of control panels (UL knowledge is a huge plus).
+ Electrical troubleshooting and safety skills.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, RS Logix, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Experience with ISO 9001:2008 quality procedures.
+ Experience with E-Plan is a huge plus.
Work Environment
The company is a smaller organization with 45 employees, including a team of 3 engineers. The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing custom electrical control panels to ensure they are correctly manufactured on the manufacturing floor. The company offers a benefit package, flexible hours with everyone leaving by 4 pm, quarterly raffles and meetings, cookouts, and company outings.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $57.00/hr.
