Job Title: RF Systems Engineer
Job Description
Take on a leading technical role in designing and developing navigation aid systems and subsystems, while actively participating in design and requirements reviews. Write requirements documents for RF systems and circuits, and engage in tuning, testing, developing, and documenting RF systems and circuitry in a lab environment.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop receivers, synthesizers, and transmitters for microwave frequencies.
+ Create filters, power dividers, couplers, oscillators, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, PIN switches, and attenuators using various RF circuitry techniques.
+ Generate schematics, perform component placement, and support layout design.
+ Analyze and develop system concepts incorporating link budgets, statistical performance analysis, and thermal analysis.
+ Generate engineering documentation including BOMs, schematics, RF system block diagrams, test procedures, technical memos, test reports, power consumption analyses, rack layouts, and cabling diagrams.
+ Demonstrate technical writing ability to clearly explain concepts and implementations that satisfy requirements.
+ Present design reviews to customers using Microsoft PowerPoint.
+ Perform requirements analysis, definition, management, and functional analysis.
+ Conduct performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and test verification.
+ Engage in validation and interface definition studies with minimal supervision.
+ Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements.
+ Analyze customer requirements, develop system requirements, and define allocations to lower levels.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
+ 10+ years of experience in RF systems design, testing, and analysis within SATCOM.
+ Hands-on experience with RF component development and integration.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with PSPICE and simulation tools.
+ Proficiency in Matlab.
+ Knowledge of AWR linear and nonlinear RF simulation, HFSS 3D electromagnetic simulator, and Maxwell electrostatic and magnetostatic simulation.
+ Familiarity with layout and schematic capture tools.
+ Expertise in board design, RF analysis, simulation, and component level design.
Work Environment
Work in a dynamic lab environment where hands-on design and testing at the board level is crucial. Collaborate with an RF engineer nearing retirement. Utilize hardware design tools for RF analysis and simulation, focusing on board-level module design. Engage with leading clients and participate in full systems level analysis, ensuring RF signals are amplified or demodulated efficiently. This role offers ongoing support for field systems catering to current and new customers, providing opportunities to work on cutting-edge technology.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.
