    Job Title: 1st or 2nd Shift MIG/TIG Welder

    Job Description

    This position involves both MIG and TIG welding tasks, with the flexibility to focus entirely on MIG one week and TIG the next. The role includes TIG welding on aluminum in a flat, 1g position, where parts and products will be rotated, requiring welding on moving components. Additionally, you will work from prints, perform fitting duties, and engage in minor fabrication tasks such as cutting, assembly, grinding, polishing, bending, and cutting. MIG production welding on mild steel in the flat position is also part of the job, along with working off blueprints. The use of hand and power tools, including hammers and fixture welding, is necessary. Minor duties outside of welding include grinding, blasting, and using a band saw.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform TIG welding on aluminum in a flat, 1g position, including on rotating parts.

    + Execute MIG production welding on mild steel.

    + Work from blueprints and perform fitting duties.

    + Engage in minor fabrication tasks such as cutting, assembly, grinding, polishing, bending, and cutting.

    + Utilize hand and power tools including hammers and fixture welding.

    + Perform minor duties outside of welding, such as grinding, blasting, and using a band saw.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 1 year of experience in MIG and TIG welding.

    + Proficiency in welding, fabrication, fitting, and aluminum welding.

    + Ability to read and work from blueprints.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Welding degree from a technical school.

    Work Environment

     

    The facility is very clean and organized, with high ceilings but no air conditioning in the summer. Doors are open during warmer months, and Gatorade and ice cream are provided to help employees stay cool. The shop houses 55-60 employees and features three different weld groups and 12 bays. The first shift operates from 6am to 3pm, with mandated work hours between 45-50 hours per week and opportunities for overtime. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots, weld helmets, and gloves.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Mills, Wisconsin.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
