This role supports the launch of New Product Development
What You Can Expect
• Design and conduct experiments according to B-F and Industry standards: tensile
testing, compression, color spectrophotometer, transportation vibration simulator, severe
environment simulations, and other package tests.
• Collects and assists in interpretation of data and provides recommendations for new
product development
• Generate lab reports and facilitates continuous improvement of laboratory testing
success criteria and methods
• Generate packaging specifications for new items where appropriate
• Record, observe and collect data associated with long term research
• Helps maintain 5S workplace
What You Bring to the Table
• Associate or bachelor’s of Science Degree with 1 - 2 years of laboratory experience; or 4 – 6
years of combined education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide recommendations
• Basic understanding of packaging materials (glass, PET, corrugated, paper)
• Problem-solving skills with a heavy emphasis placed on the ability to diagnose and solve
problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop effective working
relationships with a broad range of business associates.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and complete work with speed and accuracy within
established timeframes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform and adapt in a rapidly changing environment as necessary.
• Ability and willingness to travel 5% of the time.
What Makes You Unique
• Packaging Science and/or Laboratory Background
• Knowledge of Glass Packaging Testing and Manufacturing Processes
• Strong information technologies aptitude
