The Engineering Manager will direct all aspects of engineering for the Memphis operation. Provide engineering leadership to the operations team as it relates to process design, maintenance and asset effectiveness and asset management strategies, order fulfillment equipment and Warehouse Control/Execution Systems.
Ensure compliance with GxP/FDA/ISO requirements and be a key player to optimize and coordinate findings from other Deliver and Make sites as appropriate. Work with all of the vital organizations (Operations, Facilities, EHS&S, Planning, Suppliers, GDEx, as well as others) to provide day to day guidance and longer-term strategic direction to the sites within the scope of this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
+ Works in partnership with the 3PL or J&J maintenance teams to develop robust processes, systems and metrics for maintaining equipment effectiveness, spare parts and maintenance repair budgets.
+ Partner with JnJ and /or 3PL to plan and provide future capacity and process improvements in support of new products and the company’s strategic plan.
+ Be well versed with industry 4.0 technologies of the future standards and applications and ensure that the digital/automation solutions are such that enable the long term strategy of enabling intelligent automation in the shop floor and order-to-cash (02C) digital touchless flow.
+ Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, and development of staff. Mentor, challenge, and develop employees. Implement appropriate practices, structure and norms for the team.
+ Develop business plans, project plans, timelines and resource requirements.
+ Direct, control and facilitate the activities of Engineering to meet strategic plans of both the MD and Pharma sectors.
+ Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements.
+ Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
+ Ensure engineering support of operations, equipment and facilities.
+ Provide safe and efficient Facilities and Equipment within the Distribution Centers through proactive technical management and leadership.
+ Develops a platform for sustainability through the design of equipment and preventative maintenance schedules.
+ Support Quality and Operations in maintaining the qualified and validated state of GxP equipment and systems.
+ Manage the application of the J&J Machine Safety standards in respect to its maintenance and implementation through WRAPS assessments on site and execution of the remediation plans.
+ Lead and/or provide recommendations to the development of new innovative technologies and concepts in accordance to the Deliver Growth Council processes
+ Act as PoC for warehouse execution systems infrastructure and Engineering Operational Technology systems, including interaction with OT Cybersecurity governance structures.
Qualifications
+ A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline is required. Advanced degree preferred
+ A minimum of 8 years of relevant Engineering experience is required
+ Distribution process and automation experience is preferred
+ Project Management experience; control of information flows, manage/control budgets and follow-up planning is required. Knowledge of FPX methodology is preferred
+ Use of GMP principles is required
+ Have knowledge of safety regulations is required
+ Knowledge of qualification and validation approaches is required
+ Working knowledge and experience of implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions is preferred
+ Capable to lead and motivate people, and coach them to develop and grow
+ Presentation and well-developed communications skills
+ FPX, Six Sigma, Lean training preferred

+ Regulated industry is preferred.
+ Supply Chain experience within Production or Warehouse/Logistics Operations
+ Medical Device experience
+ Experience working in a 3PL environment
+ Experience working on Warehouse Distribution projects
+ Experience working with conveyor systems and other packaging equipment
Other:
+ The role has a primary location in the J&J Distribution Center located in Memphis, TN.
+ This position may require up to 25% of travel both internationally and domestically.
