    Job Description

    The Foundation Accountant’s chief objective is to perform financial operations in accordance with established policies and practices. Responsibilities to include examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation and verification of financial records for the Educational, Athletic, Museum and Real Estate Foundations, as well as the Alumni Association under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.

    Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of the use of data processing techniques in maintaining accounting records. Knowledge of effective customer service and problem-resolution techniques. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt accounting principles and methods to a variety of fiscal needs. Demonstrated ability to assemble, analyze and prepare reports of compiling complex financial data. Demonstrated ability to reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, and other financial transactions. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software such as MS Word and MS Excel to record, reconcile, monitor and report data.

    Considerable experience in Accounting or a related field. Considerable experience using automated financial systems.

    Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

    General knowledge of non-profit organizations and fund accounting. Advanced MS Excel skills to include pivot table and lookup functions. Advanced experience reconciling bank accounts, receivables, payables and other financial transactions. Experience with report writing for general ledger systems. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Conditions of Employment

    Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Hybrid/Telework schedule available upon required approval.
