    SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

    Job Summary

    Maintains minimum requirements of a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, current MS SLP license, and current Certificate of Clinical Competence or CFY. Provides direct and indirect patient care for adult and pediatric patients in a variety of settings to include performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing appropriate treatment, and planning discharge per standards set by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Communicates with physicians, nurses, dieticians, social workers, co-workers, and caretakers regarding patient assessment, recommendations, plan and prognosis.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Professional Responsibilities:

    + Appropriately administers and interprets standardized assessments for articulation, language, and cognitive skills

    + Establish appropriate diet recommendations and compensatory strategies based on clinical dysphagia assessment

    + Establishes appropriate and pertinent plan of care based on chart review, diagnosis, and clinical findings

    + Accurately and efficiently completes E-Care documentation

    + Meets CEU requirements for assigned intervals to maintain current, valid MS State Dept of Health license and ASHA CCC or CFY

    + Actively participates in the department’s performance improvement (PI) activities

    + Adheres to and utilizes appropriate infection control policies

    + Participates in orientation of new personnel

    + Attends mandatory staff meetings and remains current with HealthStream requirements

    + Meets annual requirements as defined by the facility

    Qualifications Education and Experience

    + Current MS state license

    + Current ASHA CCC-SLP

    + CPR certification
